Our Story

A Proper Glasgow Local

The Anchor & Cleaver has been feeding and watering Glasgow since 2009. We took a forgotten Victorian boozer on Miller Street and brought it back to what a pub should be — great food, honest drink, and somewhere you actually want to stay.

Our head chef sources locally wherever possible — Perthshire beef, Hebridean seafood, Ayrshire dairy. The menu changes with the seasons, but the welcome never does.

Whether it's a quiet weeknight dinner, Saturday with the family, or the World Cup final at full volume — there's always a seat for you at the Anchor.

Best Sunday roast in Glasgow, full stop. Been coming here for years and the quality never dips. The staff remember your name — you can't say that about many places.

Took clients here for a working lunch and they were genuinely impressed. Ribeye was flawless, service was quick without being pushy. Will be back.

Watched the Six Nations here last winter. Packed but they managed the crowd brilliantly. Great atmosphere, good beer, and the haggis bon bons at half time were elite.
